Alba believes in the innate ability to heal and to find our path of peace. She wants to provide a space where the client can create a safe space on their own terms, taking the time to explore any change they are experiencing in their life, any difficulty, and any part of themselves they may not have met yet or want to revisit.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington DC, she brings 9+ years of bilingual counseling experience to help her clients reacquaint their strengths. With a master’s degree in Psychology from Huelva University in Spain, Alba combines her multicultural background and diverse therapy approaches to build healthy and strong therapeutic relationships with her clients.
She started her professional journey practicing early intervention, seeing toddlers and young kids and their caregivers, to help minimize the need for special education. She continued working closely with families and individuals who experienced loss and trauma, making the range of ages completely open.
Alba uses an eclectic approach and integrates Cognitive-Behavioral, Narrative, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused, Art Therapy interventions, among others. She is also working towards her certification in EMDR and Psychodrama, which brings other possibilities to her clients. Most importantly, Alba believes first in getting to know her clients to discover which approach best fits their needs and personality. Alba works with her clients to meet achievable goals and works step by step towards these goals together as a team.
